Why Coach Mentoring
Coach Mentoring is an important requirement of the ICF Credentialing process and is vital to the development and growth of the individual seeking an ICF Credential.
According to the ICF, Mentor Coaching means: “a credential applicant being coached on their coaching skills rather than coaching on practice building, life balance, or other topics unrelated to the development of an applicant’s coaching skill.”
Coach Mentoring provides the opportunity to share your coaching skills with someone who can provide feedback regarding your use of the ICF Core Competencies. Coach Mentoring should take place over an extended time in a cycle that allows for listening and feedback from the Coach Mentor, and reflection and practice on the part of the individual being mentored.
